to use more than one swap partition, list each desired swap partition
in /etc/fstab as:
/dev/hda6 swap swap pri=42 0 0
/dev/hdd6 swap swap pri=42 0 0
then from command-line issue: /sbin/swapon -a
to display which partitions are being used for swap: swapon -s
