I've had the same problem with my Logitech optical mouse. I substituted a
microsoft wheel mouse and all is well. One major difference between the two
is that the MS mouse has a ps2 connecter while the logitech has a usb
connector with a ps2 adapter. My perusals on google on this subject indicate
that it may be the usb part of it that is causing the problem.
