[SLE] Install Hangs on Ramdisk

    I have two desktops at work. Both are new Dells. One is a Dimension 2400 and
    one is an Optiplex 170L. Both fail when I try to install SuSE.

    What happens is that they stall when "Loading Ramdisk" takes place. On the
    Optiplex is stops after only a few dots, but the Dimension gets further
    along.

    The same thing happens when I try the install with Safe Settings.

    Has anyone experienced this before? I have search the web and turned up no
    clues. Any help?

      ... I know I harp a bit on the Inspiron and Vostro (and now Studio XPS) ... from Dell when it breaks... ... I still have a good deal of faith in the older Dimension 45XX and 8300 ... The current mid/upper level Optiplex is the last place for me to steer ...

I proposed one of my rock-solid ex-corporate Dimension 8300's with my usual one-year warranty and XP Pro, ... The current mid/upper level Optiplex is the last place for me to steer clients to a new Dell desktop with any confidence. ... And while the Mitac-based systems pissed me off, even they were worthy of more respect than any of the current Inspiron/Vostro (Studio XPS) lines - unless the current goal is to create throwaway desktops. ...
