    I had something similar happen to me yesterday. I added another gig of
    Ram to my desktop. I forgot that I had manually changed some settings in
    the bios to tweak it for the original ram. When I set the ram bios
    settings back to default I was able to continue booting. I doubt that
    this is what you are experiencing, but may help point you in a new
    direction...
