I can ping the mail server(s) with no problem and I can surf with no
problem. It's only the other services that can't connect. No IM, no
checking of mail with Firebird and Evolution. The box worked this
morning with an Adelphia cable connection (and has for over a month) and
I've not changed any settings (except the SMTP to change it to use
Alltel now). Could it be the SpeedStream modem provided by Alltel
that's blocking it. If so, is there a web interface (like Netgear or
Linksys routers) for changing settings and unblocking ports?

    Thanks.
