Creative Labs MuVO works just fine and is about $/€150. Quality is good
and it plays mp3, wav and wma files and can be used as a pen drive.
I've had one with no problems on SuSE 8/9 (for several months - so
anything I say is probably hopelessly out of date ;-) )
