[SLE] Help - Took modem out and now I have errors

Mates,
Suse 9.0 pro. Hylafax was working. Modem fried in storm. Took modem out
of box (modem was ttyS0) I now have apcupsd on ttyS0 working. How do I stop
faxgetty from trying to initialize the modem? I have stopped hylafax
w/rchylafax stop and chkconfig hylafax off. All confirmed, but I still get:
