I did that each time I had to redo the sound card with Yast to get it back
to working. First I would delete whatever sound card was displaying then
add a sound card which always came up to be the correct Yamaha, then setup
the volumes and so long as I didn't restart my machine the sound would
work normally. As soon as it was restarted the good sound card settings
went away as described earlier. It may be fixed now since I did a big
online update today.
Even though I hate to do so, I guess I should do another restart to see if
it stays working.
