[SLE] device mapper?

    Hello SuSE folkz,

    Could somebody tell me please
    if dm_mod and device mapper is the same thing.
    My system complains that it can't find dm_mod
    during boot up.
    Where in the kernel configuretion in what section
    I can enable or disable this module.
