I tried removing DHCP from my network. I've only been
running it a few days and I wanted to see if it was causing
    my network problmes. I:

    1. Set all client cards to permanent IP
    2. Set all /etc/hosts files to the correct IPs.
    3. Used yast to turn off DHCP on the server

After rebooting the server (yeah, I know I probably didn't
    need to):

    1. System wouldn't boot. I have this problem almost
everytime I make a services change. The boot process goes
crazy with seg faults until I write or touch any file in
/etc. Yes, I know this makes no sense, but I've had this
    since installing 9.0.

    2. After successfully booting, I could ping all boxes by
name and IP. I could ping my server from all clients by
    name and IP.

    3. I rebooted all clients.

    4. NFS would not mount on client boots. It would hang for
about 20 minutes, error, then continue.

    5. I checked my exports, manually and through yast. They
    looked fine.

    6. I checked my client /etc/fstab files. They looked fine.

    7. I could still ping everything from everywhere.

    8. I tried reintializing the NFS clients. They could not
find any export mounts on the server.

    9. I put DHCP back in. Everything works as before.

Any clue what's going on? This doesn't make any sense to me.
