I have just secured funding to replace our (somewhat-tired) mail
server. Currently we are using a recycled HP NetServer E800 running
RedHat 7.2 (with no X), Squirell Mail, SpamAssassin and Sendmail to
serve c. 70 POP boxes (SMTP is provided by an external ISP for numerous
reasons).
I have been using SuSE/SUSE on the desktop since 8.2 and am tempted to
run SUSE on the new server. We have 95% IBM hardware - so I would like
to buy IBM, with this in mind I have my eye on xSeries rack-mountable.
1. Has anybody got any advice on which model I should go for (budget of
GBP 2000 ex VAT)?
2. Has anybody got any advice on which version of SUSE would be most
appropriate?
Many thanks in advance.
H
