Dude your are not the first with this problem, all of my systems with 4X agp
do this. I found that you manually download the Nvidia drivers from Nvidia,
which is what the script does anyway. switch the system to init 3 from a
terminal as root.
cd in the directory where you download the Nvidia instaler to and run it with
sh nvi...... . then before you start X vi /etc/X11/XF86config-4 and go to
the device section.
In there change the driver "nv" to "nvidia" and add a line
Option "NvAGP" "1"
directly below it, save the file exit,
run "sync" so that if it freezes you don't get file system corruption if it
does freeze.
Then type X if it starts without freezing you Aok, <ctrl>-<alt><backspace> to
exit "X" the init 5 back to your Gui
There is a comprehensive Readme in /usr/share/doc/Nvidia check it out.
