I am running KDE3.3.1 on a SuSE9.0 partition with my printer on a WinXP
    Pro box on my LAN.

I setup the printer using YaST as HP DeskJet 610C: Queue HP on SMB
server igor.ffc Configured as: HP [test] - ready. This happily prints
out the test pages without any complaints.

The problem starts when I attempt to print from any other applicaton.
At that point the print process bombs with the following error
    message(s):

print error occurred. Error message received from system:

    /usr/bin/lpr -P 'HP' '-#1' '/opt/kde3/share/apps/kdeprint/testprint.ps'
: execution failed with message: Status Information, attempt 1 of 3:

'localhost', attempt 1 connected to 'localhost' requesting printer

failed error 'NONZERO RFC1179 ERROR CODE FROM SERVER' with ack
'ACK_FAIL' sending str '^BHP' to HP@localhost error msg: 'spool queue
for 'hp' does not exist on server abnormal.ffc' error msg: '
non-existent printer or you need to run 'checkpc -f'' Waiting 10 seconds
before retry Status Information, attempt 2 of 3: sending job
'computation@abnormal+606' to HP@localhost connecting to 'localhost',
attempt 1 connected to 'localhost' requesting printer HP@localhost job
'computation@abnormal+606' transfer to HP@localhost failed error
'NONZERO RFC1179 ERROR CODE FROM SERVER' with ack 'ACK_FAIL' sending str
'^BHP' to HP@localhost error msg: 'spool queue for 'hp' does not exist
on server abnormal.ffc' error msg: ' non-existent printer or you need to
run 'checkpc -f'' Waiting 10 seconds before retry sending job
'computation@abnormal+606' to HP@localhost connecting to 'localhost',
attempt 1 connected to 'localhost' requesting printer HP@localhost job
'computation@abnormal+606' transfer to HP@localhost failed error
'NONZERO RFC1179 ERROR CODE FROM SERVER' with ack 'ACK_FAIL' sending str
'^BHP' to HP@localhost error msg: 'spool queue for 'hp' does not exist
on server abnormal.ffc' error msg: ' non-existent printer or you need to
    run 'checkpc -f''

Now, I don't know what I have done, or failed to do, and I certainly
don't know what the problem(s) is (are). I had attempted to use CUPS
for printing and failed miserable. Presently the only way that I can
print something is to save it as a document, move it to the WinXP
    machine and print it there.

    Any assistance will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
