I suppose this may be init killing the keyboard. I tried the runlevel
editor from startx KDE as root. I then disabled the keyboard, intending
to immediately reenable it, thinking that might clear a corrupted init
file somewhere. This didn't work. Now kbd is not enabled. When I try to
enable it, I get:
