    Hi Joe,

    What is tha max resolution you can go up to? Higher
    means higher refresh rate.

     Also check that you have selected the brand of
    monitor you have in Yast, as otherwise Yast will
    assume safe settings and say something like Vesa or
    generic LCD. The dimensions in mm of the screen will
    be important for the resolution as well.

    Be careful when you are making changes there using SAX
    (it is preferred for making these change as the config
    files are overwritten by the sax configs ... I think
    at boot time). I have completly crash my Linux OS only
    when I made unreasonable changes there.
