    Hmmmmmmmmm.... I don't find it too different to fdisk on DOS, when I
    changed to Minix and later Linux, I had no trouble from the start. I
    could delete all the partitions, setup new ones and create filesystems
    on them. "mkfs.vfat -F 16 /dev/sda1" would setup FAT16. I suppose the
    man pages contain lots of options for those who feel the need for them,
    but I like to keep it simple. You have a disk, you want to "print" the
    partition table to see what's on it, you decide you want to "delete"
    what's there, then you "add a new partition", "print" to see how it
    looks, "change" it's partition id to whatever you want, "write and
    exit", mkfs and you are done. You can experiment until you are happy,
    type "m" and check the command options as you go.
