    | I've done a google search an couldn't find what I needed. Because I know
    | how to make an iso, and usually burning a large number of files, I find
    | it easier to go the iso route. Well I did a rip of my SUSE 9.2 dvd and
    | after all was said and done I had an iso a bit over 7.5gb. What I now
    | want to do is burn this directly to a dual layer dvd. K3B doesn't
    | recognize the DL, when I tried a copy and it didn't when I tried to burn
    | the iso.

    | Someone recommended klvemkdvd, but it seems to work with video files..
    | I found one site that talked about burning the dl original to a single
    | layer.. But thats no help.

    | Any help would be appreciated as these DL bastards are $6 a pop, and I

    Hey all..

I found out the reason K3B couldn't burn my iso. It was the media...
ridata, also known as ritech and a couple of other names. It seems the
NEC 3500AG is shipped with 2.16 firmware, that does not include
the definitions for the ritech disks. So K3B couldn't recoginze the
disks. Well the fine folks over at cdfreaks
(http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=86) and Liggy have come up
with a hacked version of the firmware to include this media (it also
removes the riplock and a few other things).

One other thing.. One of the challenges in running a straight Linux
system (No dual boot) has been to flash the firmware of the hardware..
Well.... Herrie and Liggy have created Binflash
(http://binflash.cdfreaks.com/)and it has a Linux version that works
great (Commandline only). I've used the NEC version, and I believe they
have a version for other makes. Don't quote me ;^) on that one though..
