Type "about:plugins" in the address field
Mozilla has lots of "about:..." pages. Type "about:about" in the address
field to see the list. Definitely check out "about:config" (in both
Mozilla and Firefox, actually).

And as Wofgang said, that's a configurable option in Mozilla (to either
switch to the new tab or stay in the current one).
