Hi,
it happened to me if I use some media player (in my case - mplayer) Most of
them alter the screen saver in order to play a movie. A basic restart of X
solves the problem.
If it is not the case, you may take a look in your X86Config file (or with
sax2) to see if DPMS is enabled for the monitor. And in KDE's
ControlCenter/Power Management.
