When Samba attempts to contact a network machine, I get the following error
    (among others):

        smbfs: unsupported module, tainting kernel.

    Since I'm running a standard SuSE 9.1 distribution, I don't understand why
smbfs is listed as unsupported (it does run, but has some nasty problems).
Can someone enlighten me? (I'm using the grub loader as installed by Yast2.)

    Paul
