    I haven't tried it and someone had posted a link to the "ultimate boot cd" as
    a recommend tools for harddrive stuff (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/)

    another poster mentioned an expensive DOS based one. Don't rember what the
    software was called but the thread was

Yes, one would think so but apparently Linux uses partitions a bit differently, or something, so that when Windows comes along afterwards, there's lost space since "headers" aren't detected the same by Windows. ...
