    Hi

I have been running 9.1 without problems for some time but, due to a hardware
failure, have had to replace my motherboard and hard disc.

My hardware configuration is a Gigabyte GA 7N400 Pro 2 motherboard with an AMD
Athlon XP2200+ CPU, Nvidia graphics card and 2 x Barracuda SATA discs.

I am booting from CD and installing from another machine on my LAN by NFS, using
the distribution downloaded from my local mirror.

I have tried installation with 'Safe Settings', but still get the following problem:

I boot from CD, load the kernel module for the network card (I've tried both the
on-board one and also a PCI card), connect to the NFS server and start the
    installation.

Any time after making the language selection, the system will lock up
completely. This can be at any time from selecting the first kernel module
(normally USB) through to partitioning my discs, although I've only ever managed
    to get there once.

I'm pretty sure that I don't have any hardware faults, as I have tried booting
and running Knoppix as a test.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    M
