[SLE] Cheap 9.2 ide/scsi backup solution suggestions

    Hi I have a machine that needs a tape backup as my HP
    Colorado ide 8gb unit id's itself in 9.2 in
    /proc/scsi/scsi

    But something on the box is not allowing the unit to
    be configured. (I need more space than a cdrw can
    provide)

    So can i be ignorant and ask

    Can anybody suggest a cheap 8gb+ storage medium for
    doing occasional large backups to either an Ide/or
    scsi bus.

    I have done a fair ammount of googling - Im admitting
    defeat. So any possible solutions/suggestion are very welcome
