I have vmware version VMware-workstation-4.5.2-8848 running flawlessly on
SuSE 9.2 both on regular i386 and amd64 platforms. The only problem I had
was after a recent YOU kernel upgrade and that was fixed by using Petr's
any-any update from platan.vc.cvut.cz via ftp in /pub/vmware. I don't
think anybody needs to go to the beta version of vmware or downgrade
his/her kernel. As far as running vmware on the newer kernel, there will
always be this annoying message. You just have to ignore it and move on
with starting vmware.
