Thanks for the apt-get suggestion. I have downloaded and installed it
as the site mentions but if I enter:

    apt-get install netapplet

using the sources.list from this URL:

    http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms/suser-jogley.php

i get an error saying that netapplet not found. apt-get is new to me
and even after spending many hours on it I am unable to tell what I am
supposed to be doing. I have the package gtk2-devel installed but
still get the gtk_stock_dialog_authentication error if I compile.

I would appreciate any help that you can provide.

    Thanks again
    Ganesh
