    --------------------------------------
    Almost there.

I set my router (DI-514), whose mac is the clone of my linux box mac, to
obtain a dynamic ip from my isp and assign (associate) the same static ips to
the two connecting clients (my 10/100 linux box and my wireless XP laptop).
I associated those static ips to the respective host names in /etc/hosts. I
can ping from my linux box by host name, but still cannot ping to my linux
box from the laptop by host name, only by ip. If I do an ipconfig /all on my
XP laptop it sees my router as both an dhcp and dns server. Any more ideas?

    Thanks Mike
