[SLE] Presario 2100 Internet problem

Sometimes the Presario 2100 will not allow any surfing, once connected,
whereas after reboot/internet logon it'll again allow one to surf. I have
checked the resolv.conf file both when this happens & after successfully
surfing and there is no change. Anywhere else to look? Neighbor says it's
a minor inconvenience, but would like to get it working correctly.
