[SLE] php mysql suse 9.2

    I am trying to install/use an application that access mysql using
    apache2/php/pear.
    SuSE 9.2.

    When php/pear try to access mysql, only a line with command
    mysql://asteriskuser:xxxxx@localhost/asterisk
    is displayed on a blank screen on the browser as a result.

    It seems to me that a link between apache2/php and mysql is missing.
    Any hint?
