Hi all,
At home I have a Soundblaster Live. This card can handle multiple audio
streams, for example, I can listen to music, and the kde plings and plongs
will still sound, and if someone phones me on skype, it will ring while the
music is playing.
At work, I have an old Soundblaster 128, which doesn't have this functionality
in hardware. I know arts does this, but arts always lag (ever tried to watch
a movie with sound going through arts?), and not all sound apps can talk to
arts.
I also know that ALSA can handle this. I've seen it done, but for all the
things I've tried, I can't get it to work. I know it can be done, I've seen
it done (saw it on a audiophile's PC, old redhat with alsa added by hand).
Does anybody know how to do this?
Thanks
