    Sounds silly but when was the last time you cleaned them? I use one
    of those cleaning CDs every three or four weeks. The ones with the
    series of little brushes on them to clean the laser lens. Got to be
    worth a try. Otherwise check the drive cables are properly seated. I
    doubt it is that as YAST sees them but again, it can't hurt to check.
