Use rpm --help for more info and command line switches. The most common
    uses are:
rpm -ivh <name of rpm, wildcards ok> to install packages
rpm -Uvh <name of package> to upgrade packages
rpm -ev <name of package > to delete a package

Of course using the command line version to install a package can lead
to problems if the package has dependencies (which you will need to sort
out on your own) which is why it is preferred to use YaST.
