    I need some help from some kind soul on a problem with my XFree86 on SuSE 9.1
    Pro.

    Sometimes my NVIDIA drivers don't load ...

    I hate to ask a question that vague but I don't know how else to put it. The
    symptoms are sometimes on reboot I get just a garbled NVIDIA splash screen
    and never get to the login screen. I know I have the latest NVIDIA drivers
    installed.

    When it happens, I swear, I wait a day, I reboot ... sometimes it comes up ..
    sometimes I get the garbled splash. I ssh from a remote machine and reboot
    into init 3 and run my apps on a remote machine's X server. Try it the next
    day .. sometimes I get login .. sometimes i get garble.

    I was able to diff a XFree86.0.log file. The first line is when things
    worked. The second diff is when things failed ...

    libros:/var/log # diff XFree86.0.log XFree86.0.log.fail

    This is just the log mod time, no issue ....

    21c21
    < (==) Log file: "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time: Mon Mar 21 12:41:38 2005

    ---
    > (==) Log file: "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time: Mon Mar 21 12:33:57 2005
    These are the two lines that are different ...
    521a522,523 (worked)
    > (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (2, 1, 0x800004x, 0x08x, 0x08x)
    > (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (1, 1, 0x800004x, 0x08x, 0x08x)
    529a532,533 (failed)
    > (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (2, 6, 0x800004x, 0x08x, 0x08x)
    > (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (1, 6, 0x800004x, 0x08x, 0x08x)
    And this line is not in the failed file ...
    573d576
    < SetClientVersion: 0 8
    libros:/var/log # grep SetClient XFree*
    All other lines are the same.
    Does anyone see anything here that would help me? Am I even looking in the
    correct place i.e. the XFree86.0.log file. I hate to post the whole file for
    waste of bandwidth.
    Thanks
    john
