[SLE] floppy problems 9.1

    My floppy is read only, all the time, regardless of floppy or how tab is set
    it always sees it a write protected drive

    currently using this from /etc/fstab:

    /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto noauto,user,sync 0 0

    orginally I had this in /etc/fstab and only root could mount or umount floppy
    and most operations attempts gave an error that it was not allowed with
    protocol drives.

    /dev/fd0 /media/floppy subfs
    fs=floppyfss,procuid,nodev,nosuid,sync 0 0

    neither works properly

    anyone know what the fix it- as with my Umaxs 1220s scanner everything worked
    ok with SuSE 8.0, and 9.0 (BTW: still have problems with the Umax 1220s
    scanner not working, gave up on that one, can reboot to SuSE 9.0 to use the
    scanner)
