    I've got this setup on 9.2 and it works OK read / write:

    $ ls -l /media | grep floppy

    drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 2005-03-30 12:12 floppy

    in /etc/fstab:
     
    /dev/fd0 /media/floppy subfs
    fs=floppyfss,procuid,nodev,nosuid,sync 0 0
