    A quick guess would be incorrect vertical refresh rate. Check the
    manual which came with your monitor and see if XF86Config or
    XOrgConfig (or whatever the new name is) and see if the vertical and
    horizontal refresh/scan rates are correct. If not, edit/correct them
    and reboot X.

    I had a similar problem with my NEC LCD1912, vertical rate was wrong
    for the default LCD listing for XF86Config.
