might be off here but there might also be a file called
dhcpd.leases~ which the dhcp server resorts to if it thinks the
dhcpd.leases file is corrupted. since you edited it manually it
may very well think has happened.
i suggest shutting down the dhcp server, renaming dhcpd.leases~
to something else (or otherwise back it up), edit the
dhcpd.leases again if needed, and then restart the dhcp server.
