Well, it seems that I solved the problem, but I did not find the
    explanation.

    1. As su root, I renamed my home dir from /home/user to /home/user.back
    2. As su root, I created new /home/user and chowned it to user
    3. Logged in as user again. Now, KDE built new Desktop with default
background and all the icons. The new icons work OK now.
    4. I moved all necessary stuf from /home/user.back to /home/user (I did
not move all ".xxxx" hiden folders)

Conclusion: the bit of difference that broke my "Trash", "Network
browsing" and "My Computer" desktop icons is burried somewhere in hidden
folders or files that reside in home dir. Since I am a long time SuSE
user, upgrading from release to release without formatting /home
partition, my home was full of all sorts of ".*" stuff.

I gave up further investigation, for now, but would appreciate anybody's
thoughts or explanations on this subject. I would really like to learn
where are the suse 9.3 file associations' and konqueror special
protocols' information hidden? I tried all the documentation and googled
all around just to find nothing about that.

    TIA
