    Nothing. the hosts file is used *instead of* DNS, it's not where you set your
    name server IP. Don't touch it. Your ISP's name servers should go
    in /etc/resolv.conf each on a separate line with the word 'nameserver' in
    front, like

    nameserver 1.2.3.4
    nameserver 5.6.7.8

    Nothing else is needed.

    It is very unusual that you ever have to touch /etc/hosts. It's mostly used to
    define the name/IP for 'localhost', that's about it these days
