I asked this on another suse list some time ago...
    didn't like the response. ;)

What are most of you folks running to stream to tape? I'm looking to replace
Retrospect on mac...I've got 5.0 now and testing retro 7 on XP. I am trying
to mirror our main file server on OSX to our SuSE box, so maybe we can just
keep the linux box going as the main file server...
I'm not sure about the new 10.4, but mac support for scsi cards hasn't been
great as of late. All my cards that ran on OS9 don't run with OSX. And now
reading the latest gripes with the 2.6 Linux kernel doesn't give me the
    "warm and fuzzies".

Anything good (software) on the Linux side? (yea, I've looked at the 9.0 and
9.2 CD's but nothing jumped out as great)
*What are you guys running that works, and has a good restore history?

I know I can "upgrade" my retro to version 6 (mac) for $200, or version 7
(winblows) for $50 (yea, you read that right) but I'm not sure I want
another winblows box just to stream to backup. Retrospect hasn't been too
great in the past. Kinda like Quark.

[yes, we also backup to disk - a internal ftp box, and a few external
drives...but you ever drop a external drive v.s. dropping a tape? I would
    rather drop a tape.]
