    Greetings,

Does suse 9.3 have a sco-ansi terminal emultor,

we use Basis Pro5 in the world of golfers, and it requires so much
modification of termcap to get it to work on linux. And even then some times
borders are drawn with characters and other times borders are nice.
    We have to preset user profiles with TERM-ansi;
TERMCAP=/u/pro5/termcap.custom; export TERM TERMCAP, and we can't use bash we
    have to specify sh etc..

Isn't there a simpler way. We don't run X at all we are completely terminal
based (as in thin clients and sco/linux console) , I would like to trash the
sco-unix setup at each site and run on linux. Man what a job!!

I had a look at the tty's and pts's but can't seem to find away to set them so
that every thing works with out having to specify terminals each time.

For example, I set user dave to ansi he can only use hotkey or a thinclient,
he can not work on the server or another linux console.
This makes him partially mobile on the course as there are only certian points
he can access, or mary who is setup for linux console can't access the system
out on the course, so to fix a problem at the POS point she must venture all
the way back to the office. (Some of the gold clubs are massive).

So we setup two user accounts for each person, now we have a mamoth
administration job, and ID10T users who can't remeber there own names and
can't login, or they logged in with the wrong username at a point which
messed up the display, and because the screen looks all messed up they reset
the terminal and then things go from minor to hell, and the terminal must be
reset. I must get in the car drive all over the country fixing this nonsense.

Please HEAR my cry for help!!

I neeeeeed to simplify the profiles, or have dual support in one profile.

Any tips, tricks, hacks, cracks, or real solutions would be so greatly
appreciated that if I can, I will send a bottle of something you like!

    Thanks
