How about trimming 30 MB (1%) off /swap to create a dedicated /boot partition
(primary) at the beginning of the drive, i.e.:
hda1 /boot
hda2 /swap
hda3 /
That way, you'd never find yourself unable to boot due to a patch or upgrade
inadvertently "pushing" the boot files beyond the limit set by your BIOS.
