I'm now the proud recipient of a box containing SUSE (notice the change in
letter) 10.0.
My laptop currently is running 9.3. I bought the laptop in July and it - of
course - came with WinXP - the crippleware version. I think it is called,
"home." I've booted to XP a total of twice since I bought the laptop and
installed SuSE.
The laptop has a 60 gig hard drive. According to KDiskFree, I've got 22.7 GB
devoted to drive C:\ - and 28.5 GB devoted to linux, with the rest being swap
and some 450MB drive which apparently contains some recovery stuff -
io.sys/command.com/msdos.sys and some batch files.
Here's my question: Dump Windows altogether and reformat the whole drive while
installing 10? I kept it around "just in case" but haven't used it at all. I
do have MS Project installed on *nix to allow for the one file type I need at
work. Would I be crazy to do this?
(By the way, I've already backed up my /home/kai directory tree with KDar. I
plan to restore it when I'm done.)
