    dear all,

I am trying to get a webcam to work on suse linux enterprise server 9.
Apparently (one of ) 'the' packages to 'read' the cam, would be
"webcam", part of xawtv. I tested on my personal suse 9 system, where
this package exists. But after installation, the "webcam" program isn't
there. (Even though http://linux.bytesex.org/xawtv/ says that "webcam"
is part of the xawtv package)

But anyway, that was just for testing, I really need the cam on another
system, running sles9, so tried installing it there. It detects the cam,
but much to my surprise I found that the package xawtv isn't there. It's
    NOT in the available packages.

I was under the impression that the packages available on sles9 were the
same as on the 'normal' suse versions. Apparently I was wrong..? Or is
there something wrong in my sles9 setup? (also I cannot find sane and
    camE on that sles9 system)

What to do? (My goal is to upload a capture from the cam every few
seconds to a remote location. (via scp for example))

    Thanks in advance!

    Mourik Jan
