Well, I'm actually happier now. Uptime of almost 2 days!

    1. BIOS 1008 is clearly a winner. I suppose I could retry 1009 but that sounds
painful, and they claim the upgrade is mainly support for dual-code
    processors.

    2. I now run the default BIOS settings except
        A. SATA IDE instead of RAID
        B. Boot priority CD then HD, moving USB devices down
        C. Video priority PCX rather than PCI (I have two cards)
(Actually this one works either way).

By the way, I experimented with the Coo'n'Quiet and the PlugandPlayAwareOS
settings. Turning either on makes the system unstable. Go figure.
