There's absolutely no need to reinstall!
Just start up YaST and invoke the Software Management module. Then
select Selections from the Filter pop-up menu and select one or both of
the KDE options. You can go to the Package Groups section (also from
the Filter menu) and find packages by category and add (or exclude)
other packages. If when you click the Accept button to begin the
installation you see a notice of additional packages, just say OK. You
should not (but might) see a conflict dialog. If so, you'll have to use
it to resolve the conflict before installing. But if you're using only
stock installation sources (the DVD or the SuSE servers or mirrors
thereof), that shouldn't happen.
