Once you've installed everything and all the plugins are correct, be
sure to refresh the plugin list in Konq settings. It won't do it
automatically, unless you have told it to do so each time it starts.
Also, be sure your kaffeine plugin is installed or you have told
kaffeine settings to use it for such things. Firefox does not always
get the plugins automatically like Mozilla, so you may have to compare
the plugins in /opt/mozilla to the ones in /opt/MozillaFirefox
directories. They should both be the same. Quicktime codecs are
included in the w32codecs file from Packman, so if your kaffeine plays
wmv, it should do quicktime also. Sometimes the quicktime files are
slower to load and decode than the windows files, so if you are
expecting an immediate response, it may not happen.
I'm using KMplayer and mplayerplug-in for my setup and everything works
fine. The quicktime site you supplied started right away for me in
Konq and CNN is just stupid people running a Windows sponsored site!
Good, got that off my chest. But, mine still works on it as well.
When it tells you the plugin is not there, just continue to the video,
it'll play, if you have refreshed Konq settings for plugins and it
found it!
