Sorry to pollute the list with that comment. It seemed humorous at the
time.
Yes, .scr is another executable extension denoting a Win32 binary
executable. Simply put most programmers just make the .scr extension to
screen savers to Windows will put the file in the saver list. Other than
that, they are exactly the same as the .exe files.
The others listed all do similar things, though .com is an older 16-bit
binary (Anyone remember edlin and debug?) and .bat/.vbs are scripting
tools, similar to .sh
When you get these in your spam email, they are designed for people
running Windows as a local administrator who don't know any better.
