[SLE] LVM naming curiosity

I have a 160GB disk with a LVM partition on it, allocated like this:
jlc:~ # lvscan
ACTIVE '/dev/system/root' [15.00 GB] next free (default)
ACTIVE '/dev/system/home' [41.40 GB] next free (default)
ACTIVE '/dev/system/software' [24.00 GB] next free (default)
ACTIVE '/dev/system/disk-images' [25.09 GB] next free (default)

I have the logical volumes mounted on like-named directories in /. All the
volumes are working fine, but 'mount' and 'df' report a slightly different
name for the 'disk-images' volume:

jlc:~ # df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/system-root
15728156 12710232 3017924 81% /
tmpfs 257784 16 257768 1% /dev/shm
/dev/hda1 15521 6481 8239 45% /boot
/dev/mapper/system-home
43412172 28633524 14778648 66% /home
/dev/mapper/system-software
25165052 17594592 7570460 70% /software
/dev/mapper/system-disk--images
25165052 15058264 10106788 60% /disk-images

Anyone know why df (and mount) show a double dash for the the 'disk-images'
volume? It doesn't seem there should be a conflict between the volume name
and mount point directory name, as the other three aren't reported with a
modified volume name.
