I am using SMART to install a set of upgrades and I get the following
error message:
Failed to download packages:
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/10.0-i386/RPMS.packman/k3b-0.1
2.11-3.pm.0.i586.rpm: Not Found
Either refresh the sources or try a different server.

The issue is that the download was initiated by a notice from SMART that
upgrades were available. That is, the SMART icon in the panel was pulsing.
When it is clicked it comes up with a list of new installs (2) and upgrades
(24). When coninue is clicked, it downloads all programs, and installs them.
Currently, SMART will not update until all of the downloads are completed (a
good thing!).
It appears that the entry in the list of downloads/installs for SMART includes
a bad reference for k3b as it cannot be found. Either the program has not
been placed in the repository or the list is referencing the wrong server.
When I run SMART directly, update the channels, and look at k3b, it shows the
same source file as the one used in the update function. Hence using SMART
directly would not work either, except that it might upgrade all the programs
that have been downloaded while failing to upgrade k3b.
It appears to me that something is wrong with the list of upgrades and should
be investigated by whoever is responsible for that functionality.
from SuSE/Novell. Have you tried contacting packman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx yet?
Marc Schiffbauer is pretty responsive if there is a problem.
