Could it be that the plug-ins are disbaled for that version of
Firefox? I could be wrong of course :-( I can't check on my SuSE
tinat the moment because I'm having to rebuild it from the ground up
(replacement mobo). In Win 2000 running Firefox 1.5.0.1 if I click on
the Tools tab (top toolbar) then on extensions it should tell you
whether the given extensions are compatible with that version. I
currently have only one that is not compatible and that is Star
Downloader.

I would suggest ugrading Firefox and then try upgrading the
extensions. It is an easier task with Firefox since 1.5 was released.

Thanks very much for responding. I seem to have resolved the
problem by attempting to just get the acroread plug-in
working. I disabled the acroread plug-in and closed firefox,
then I re-installed the acroread plug-in (for the second
time). I then re-enabled the acroread plug-in, closed firefox,
re-booted and all of my plug-ins now work. It seems very odd
to me that just by re-installing one plug-in, all of them
would suddenly start working.

Most peculiar... I wonder whether there is anything like this
mentioned on the Firefox forums? Could it be a bug I wonder?
